Abstract: Corrosion is a significant problem in various industries, leading to the degradation of steel structures and causing significant economic losses. Heterocyclic compounds, which contain heteroatoms such as nitrogen, sulfur, and oxygen, have been found to be effective corrosion inhibitors for steel in acidic environments. This mini-review discusses the synthesis and use of heterocyclic compounds as corrosion inhibitors for steel in acidic solutions. The review highlights the potential of these compounds as effective and low-cost corrosion inhibitors for various industries.
